Has low tensile strength. Might not be the best coating for roofs where there will be considerable foot traffic due to the coating can tear more easily. Fabric can be added to increase tensile strength.
Becomes slippery when wet with dew or rain, possibly creating a safety hazard. Granules can be added to edges and walkways to aid in slip resistance and increase durability.
No other coating will stick to Silicone. If you ever want to change coating in the future, you most likely will always have to re-coat with a compatible silicone.
Maybe not the best choice for metal roofs due to its breathable membrane which can allow rust to occur.
